A healthy boy, a healthy girl,
With disarming dimples and endearing curls.
Holy child, messiah of God,
Devoid of contempt and of fraud.
My dear child, why do you smile ?
Is it the walk that goes for miles ?
Motherly love is what creates the mirth,
Her replica of God, by the labour of birth.
Setting eyes upon you, brings about a warmth,
Lost innocence regained, all anxieties calmed.
Pretty child, sleep sound while you can,
Soon shall you enter, the evil world of man.
Here it is –supreme deity of mankind,
I find God in a healthy child !

Devavrat Jivani is a student of 12th Std, Science Stream,
Don Bosco High School, Vadodara.
He has won ‘Best All-Rounder Student’ award in primary
& secondary section of his school.
His hobbies are:
*Reading English classic as well as fiction
*Writing poems and articles in English
*Public Speaking
*Dance and drama.
In these different fields, he has won prizes at school level,
and for elocution, has won a prize at a competition which
was held by Indian Express.
Last month, in a school level poetry writing competition
for the students of higher secondary, he won First Prize
for this poem on the subject –‘Healthy Child’.
A youth of seventeen years astonished everyone sitting on
the bench of judges. We wish him great success in his fields.
